  1. I know that my family are from Gagliano and that my father moved to Australia during the 50’s.
Due to circumstances beyond control I was taken from him as a child in the 70’s and didn’t reconnect until some 20 yrs later.
He has since passed and I keep his ashes close; that said I want to take him home and get to know any of our family that are still there.
Amongst all this I have started to get together what I need to get an Italian passport and knowing of any family in Sicily could only help.
I am so ready to know my Father, family and culture; and ultimately myself.
Thank you for letting me share.

  2. Hi- Both of my Great Grandparents came from Gagliano Castelferato. My Great Grandfather came to Newark, NJ on April 27,1906. He sailed from Palermo on the “Marc Minghetti”. My Great Grandmother, Santa Larcera, sailed on the Conta de Savoy in March of 1907. His birthdate is June 4, 1887. And hers is July 13, 1892.

I’d love to know more about their families. Who their parents were. If they left any siblings in Italy or if any siblings joined them in America. Maybe there’s even family I still have in Sicily. ANY information would be so much appreciated.

    Thank you!
