Merci d’avance.

My father-in-law’s family came from Domodossola. The family name was Roggiani – however, was changed to Roggina as some point before getting on the Dante Aligheri in 1923 which sailed out of Genoa, Italy. My husband’s grandfather was Primo Roggina, and his last known place of residence in Italy was Nizza Monferrato. I have been trying to outline some of the family history and so far have only found Primo’s father: Marcello Roggiani and Primo’s grandfather: Domenico Roggiani. Both came from Domodossola.
I have not found any record of Primo’s mother: Mary Parozino.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated before I continue my path down the genealogy trail.
Millie grazie!
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I know that my ancestors left Italy for Australia in 1855. The family were Luigi Dell’Oro, father and Theressa Bottoa, wife. I do not know their dates of birth. However, they had 2 sons, Alexander, b. circa 1837 and Charles b. circa 1839. They were supposedly from Domodossola.
They arrived in Australia on May 21 1855 aboard the Gertrude which left from the French port of Dieppe.
I myself am going to be visiting Domodossola on May 9 and 10 this year and would love to know if you have any further information on this family or any existing relatives.
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,
Estelle Dellora
