Teresa M. Giuseppa PETRIZZI was born in Ripacandida on March 19, 1902, daughter of Antonio and Maria Carmela BAFFARI.
She got married on April 24, 1922 with Michele RONDINELLA.

My father’s name was Pasqualino “Patsy” Luigi Fusco, he was born in Altoona, Pa December 5, 1922 and his older brother Michael A. Fusco was born in Ripacandida On January 16, 1914, and their sister was Edith Ida Fusco (Woodring) was born in Altoona, Pa in 1924.
Their parents were Maria (Pompa) Fusco and Biago “William” Fusco both born in Ripacandida then, moved to Altoona, Pennsylvania. I would to know about Maria and Biago’s family members. Grazie!

Raffaele is from ripacandida and was born about 1890. He married Pasqualina Martino. In his obituary it states his parents names were Mary and Donato. My maternal grandmother is Raffaelina Anastasia and is from Ripacandida (born 1929 died 2018). I bet we’re related! Note that Ripacandida is the town, Potenza the province and Basilicata the region.
Fascinating how many residents of Ripacandida ended up in Altoona, PA. There is an Antonio Cerully in my family from Ripacandida. I think I found the right immigration record, and he came over on a ship from Naples to NY in 1901. There was also a Michele Cerullo from the same town headed to Altoona but we aren’t sure of relationship (sister, wife, cousin). There was also a Donato (can’t decipher last name) from Ripacandida heading to Altoona who was on the same ship (SS Karaminia).
Is anyone here related to these folks or have documentation of their relationships to each other?

My grandmother immigrated from Ripacandida and also ended up in Altoona, PA. Her last name was Rubino. She came as a teenager with her uncle through Ellis Island.
My father was Umberto Alamprese from Ripacandida and i remember the name of Rubino as paizano.

My great-grandparents and grandfather on my father’s side also came from Ripacandida and moved to Altoona, PA. Their surname once here in the states was Berardi. I only got to visit Altoona once as an adult. It was for my grandfather’s funeral. His name was Pasquale Berard. As I am told, he “unofficially” dropped the I from his name during World War 2.

I am looking for information on any relatives living in Ripacandida where my grandfather (Rocco Lettieri), grandmother (Anna Messere Lettieri) and father (Michele Lettieri) lived from late 1800’s to 1920’s. I know my grandfather had a brother (Pasquale Lettier1) who immigrated to Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1908 and my grandfather (Rocco) came in 1913. My grandmother and father came to Altoona in 1926. Thank you for providing any information you can as my wife and me are planning a trip to Italy to locate any relatives.
Both of my parents and their parents were born in Ripacandida. My paternal grandfather was Donato Lettieri who married Fedela Gioiosa. They had one child, my father, Antonio born on March 5, 1912. Donato entered WW1 after his wife died and my father was left with his grandmother. During the war, Donato met and married a French girl (Edith Mary Moyon) in 1919. They emigrated to Altoona, PA with Antonio around 1924. Antonio moved to Chicago around 1932 and met and married my mother, Rosa Maria D’Adamo in 1936. My maternal grandparents were Pasquale D’Adamo and Antoinette Ricciardella. I was not aware of any other relatives besides my grandfather’s family that lived in Altoona. But it’s possible were related somehow. I visited Ripacandida in 1976 with my parents and am hoping to go back with a couple of my daughters within the next year. Good luck.

WE are visiting Ripacondida September 18 and 19, 2016. We want to visit the City Hall to look at birth, marriage and death records for ancestors who were born and lived in Ripacondida. What time will the city hall be open on Monday? What time will the cemetery be open to look at grave sites? When is church office open? I finally visited Ripacandida for the first time this June 2016 and am interested in tracing my ancestors. I read John’s message posted May 7, 2015 and realized that his grandmother’s parents were my great grandparents: Angelo Rubino and Antonia Gioiosa.
My grandmother was Anna Rubino. She married Antonio Berlongieri. They went to Altoona, Pennsylvania too.
Also one of my uncles was born there. My grandparents returned to ripacandida.

I am looking for more information regarding my family that originated from Ripacandida. My great grandfather was born Vito Vaccaro in 1903 and moved to Chicago in 1914 and name changed to David Anthony Vaccaro. His parents were Rocco Vaccaro son of Vito Vaccaro (grandfather was Rocco Vaccaro) and Anna Ricciardella (grandfather Vito Ricciardella)
