Hi Mitch, My husband Michael is also the Great Grandson of Donato. (his Mother Norma N Carstedt), Norma;s mother Margaretha Carlstedt Bastiani). I found your message while looking up info about the Oriental Institute.now the Institute for the study of ancient cultures museum. We are visiting the museum tomorrow on November 3rd 2023. I will be taking photos with my camera and would be glad to share some photos and information. Some how you are related to my husbands family.
My mother’s parents were both born in San Cassiano Bagni de lucca. The Bastiani’s and Fabbri were the names of my grandmother (Bartolomea Bastiani)and grandfather (Iacopo Fabbri) were their names. Any information or photo’s would be appreciated.
The Bastiani house is still there as is the birthplace of my grandfather Fabbri.
