I have a painting (circa 1950?) I have always loved this painting and with the miracle of Google Earth I think I’ve tracked the location to the square at the waterfront in Amalfi. However, although most of the buildings in the background look correct I think maybe the statue in the central grass area has had it’s base altered. The statue is now on a ‘modernistic’ base whereas in the painting it is on a tall base and surrounded by railings Do you have an old photo of the square?
