Suggested Day – Castelmezzano, Pietrapertosa & the “Flight of the Angel”

Discover the Dolomiti Lucane by visiting Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa, with their dramatic cliffs and alleys.
When available and if you wish, you can add the famous “Volo dell’Angelo” zipline experience between the two villages.

Suggested Day – Venosa & Aglianico del Vulture

Visit Venosa, with its Roman and medieval heritage and connections to the poet Horace, then continue through the Vulture area for tastings of Aglianico del Vulture wine.
A perfect choice if your family comes from the Vulture or northern Basilicata countryside.

Suggested Day – Craco, the Ghost Town

Visit Craco, an evocative abandoned hill town often used as a movie set, with striking views over the surrounding landscape.
This day is particularly appealing if you are interested in photography and atmospheres with a strong visual impact.

Suggested Day – Matera and the Sassi (UNESCO)

Discover Matera, one of Italy’s most iconic historic cities: walk through the Sassi, visit rupestrian churches and enjoy panoramic viewpoints over the stone dwellings.
This day works particularly well if your ancestral town is within easy reach of the Matera area.

Suggested Day – Maratea & the Tyrrhenian Coast

Travel to Maratea, with its historic center, coastal views and the Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
