At ItalianSide.com we are very proud to announce that ItalianSide is a partner of the “Paesi e Radici” (“Villages and Roots”) project, which obtained the highest score in all of Italy for the call for tenders on “Turismo delle Radici” (Ancestry Tourism) promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Cooperation.

The project brings together ItalianSide’s experiences , Slow Italy Tours and Fondazione Appennino.

In terms of design quality and breadth of the participation process, it is a real community ready to welcome the “ancestry tourists” in Italy.
The design challenge of “Paesi e Radici” project lies in the search for stories, through a real genealogical map of people with Italian roots and to organize trips and itineraries tailored on tourists needs, as well as collaborating in the creation of the national communication campaign and activities under the supervision of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among the activities included in the project there are:

• Provide assistance to family history requests from those interested in traveling, in collaboration with local municipal and church authorities;
  
• Identify the itineraries of interest for roots tourists;
  
• Collaborate in the communication campaign of the “Ancestry Tourism” project under the supervision of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the promotion of 2024 “Year of Italian roots in the world”.
