A New Year’s Eve recipe from Italy: sausages with lentils

Ingredients for 6-8 people

1 pound of white flour
4 tablespoons of sugar
3 eggs
100 gr of melted butter
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 gr of vanilla

Put the flour on a wooden table and make a whole in it.
Add the sugar, then the eggs.

Whisk the eggs a little then add the butter, the vanilla and the baking powder.
Mix the ingredients using your hands.

Wrap the dough in a plastic film and let it rest for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Flatten the dough using a rolling pin.
The dough should be about 2 mm thick.
Cut different shapes using cookie cutters.

Put them in an oven pan and bake them for about 10 minutes at 320° F.

If you want you can add colored sugar on top before baking them, or some icing once they are cooked.
