    1. We want to visit/take our farther back to La Vincenzo la Costa. Shouldn’t be that difficult. My father is Gaetano and I am Irene

    2. Any clue as to the name of Catholic church in Gesuiti, near San Vencenzo La Costa, on or near via Alassandro Manzoni and Corso V Emanuele? What is it now? How do I find where sacrememt records are held. They are not at the diosese in Cosenza. My grandmother had said San Antonio, when she married there in 1910.

    3. Is there any way to search for an orphan? My gr….grandmother was an Esposito which means orphan and she was born at the end of 1700’s. Thanks

      1. Esposito means exposed and was a surname for foundlings. Foundlings had unknown parents and were treated unkindly. Orphans had known parents but deceased and were treated kindly. Very different. They were not housed together.

If you see this, I just did some work on a foundling from this town and might be able to help. The birth records were in a funky place in the register books and hard to find. Though oops, end of 1700s is pre Napoleonic civil records, so you’ll probably need church records. A local genealogist might be best.

    4. I’m looking for relatives of Orlando DeFilippis and wife Lucy Pimpinelli. Orlando left there in 1912 but I’ know he left brothers and sisters. His dad was Vittorio and Mom. Ermenia.

    5. My son in law is half Italian. His grandparents are Livio Fallico and Francesca d`Alessandro, both born about 1928 in San Vincenzo la Costa. We do not know their parents or ancestors.

      1. Hi Helen,
Livio Fallico was my uncle (dad’s brother). My father was Francesco Fallico. And actually, Zio Livio baptized me. Who is your son in law? Must be one of my cousin’s son.

    6. Responding to Emily,
Just an FYI! Your grandfather Antonio was my grandfater Fortunato’s
Younger Brother. My grandfather came to the US
In 1903 and he traveled with an Aiello. They wen
To Port Chester NY to work with his friend/cousin Aiello’s Father or
Relative. I have their names. Your grandmother Millie may be related
To those Aiellos. We all lived in Bay Ridge/dyker Heights
And my mom knows your family very well
And misses Tessie very much! She is 96
And the last Magnifico sibling! Hope to hear from Emily

had two children – my father Giovanni Gaetano Zangari born February 28, 1928
      – my aunt Maria Zangari- born October 1925

Adolfo Zangari born October 15, 1906 died Feb. 5, 1950
parents – father- Adolfo Zangari born 1876 ? died 1951?

My father married my mother Ida Palma Rocchetti on February 6, 1949, my mother’s family is from Rende. Her parents were Francesca and Francesco Rocchetti.

Most of the information I have is from a document from the Commune Di S. Vincenzo La Costa for immigration purpose dated 12/4/1952.
