Carbonara day is celebrated on 6 April.
If you come to Italy, a real Carbonara is something you cant miss in your trip to our county.
But how did the most famous pasta recipe in the world come about? Legend and history come together, like the flavors of the dish probably Rome, for some Abruzzo, for others Riccione.
The legend says that it was born after the arrival of the Americans, in 1944, and certain are also the initial ingredients, brought by the US troops: eggs and bacon. And then, of course, the italian pasta!
In this short film produced by Barilla an Italian cook (Claudio Santamaria) meets an American soldier (Yonv Joseph) with a mission: to prepare a special meal for the allied forces stationed in the city.
Here below you can see the video.
To celebrate the spirit of care and sharing, in 2021 Barilla will donate 1 million pasta dishes to Food For Soul – the non-profit organization founded by chef Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore.
