My paternal grandfather was born in Mistretta. His name was Benedetto Gumina. He had a younger brother named Luigi. Benedetto was born circa 1878. He emigrated to America when he was approximately 20 years old. We are fairly certain that he arrived at the port of Boston, Massachusetts and soon after relocated to Greenwich, CT. Benedetto also had a younger sister named Vincenza and another sister who lived in Hamden, CT named Pippina. Benedetto’s father’s name was Sebastiano. Sebastiano never left Italy. Benedetto married Lucia Marchetti at a church called Church Our Lady the Rosary, 22 Don Bosco Place, Port Chester, NY 10573. I am searching for any birth, church, baptism, address information regarding Sebastiano and Benedetto Gumina. Sebastiano’s wife’s name was Maria who died in America during the 1920’s.
