Was president of the Assunta Society at San Francisco Church (first 100% Italian Roman Catholic Church in Detroit at Rivard and Brewster) for 40 years. Whole Eastern Market area was Italian section. They lived on Illinois off Russell. They had 9 children (Grandma was 3 months pregnant with Josephine when she left Italy), Sylvester Valerio, Anna Valerio, Gilda Valerio (died as baby), Clarence Valerio (Tarzan), Pasquale Valerio Bridget Valerio, Eugene Valerio and My Dad Anthony Valerio. The USA turned my Grandma’s maiden name from Caira to Cairo. My Dad’s cousins on Valerio side were Panetta.

I believe my grandfather’s brother (I don’t know how many brothers or sisters he had) was named Gerardo Valerio. I came across my Dad’s cousin’s Obit from 2017, John Valerio who was 96, his parents Maria Panetta and Gerardo Valerio. I remember My Dad had an Aunt Mary, can’t remember if she was on the Valerio or Caira side.

Everybody is gone now. My Dad (Antonio – Anthony – Tony) was the baby of the family, he died June 21, 2001. My last two aunt’s Bridget and Josephine (Mucha)in 2003. Last uncle in 2010. My fav. aunt was Annie, died Dec. 7, 1996. I miss them all with all my heart. Finding this page was a blessing. Any relations in Villa Latina, please respond. We are Cousins.

Hi , I am trying to trace my great grandfather and grandmother .i believe that my grandmother is from villa Latina .There is some confusion around her original married name but it is likely to be Angella Franchi born in 1865 she is down as molinari in the 1911 census in Newcastle but it appears that she married in 1901 again after arriving in the U.K).she had 4 children born in Italy, Harry 1886, Theresa 1888,Annie1892 and Larry 1895. Peter was born in Newcastle in 1902.
My Grandad Peter changed his name aged 31 years ,3 years before he married from Peter Molinari to Peter Molinari Franchi.
Any information would be gratefully received thank you.

Hello, I’m looking for any information on my great grandparents – Giuseppe Coppola and Lucia(?) don’t know her maiden name. They lived in Villa Latina. Their son Antonio Coppola (my grandfather) born in Villa Latina in 1876, left home between 1890-1892 and went to England, where he lived for 10 years. He then moved to Glasgow where he stayed and started a family and died in 1943 aged 67. I think Antonio had brothers and sisters. One brother may have gone to the United states and one sister to Paris. I would be grateful for any information regarding this family. Thanks.
