It’s important to plan your activities to carry on with simple goals (eg. search for a single date of birth, the name of an ancestor, the date of a marriage, etc.)

Hello, I am looking for any information on my great-grandfather. His Ellis Island record in the early 1900s indicates he came over on the ship Barbarossa out of Naples and his home town was Isola del Liri. His name was Angelo Saccucci and eventually our family ended up in Southern Massachusetts. Thank you!

My paternal grandparents (Michele Pessia and his wife Elvira ((Ferri)) emigrated from Isola del Liri to Boston MA around 1910. He was born around 1895 and she around 1887. He was a tailor by trade and she remained a homemaker. I have no idea if they were related to the Pessia family located in Bradford, PA.

I am the daughter of an Italian family that immigrated to Boston MA. My uncle, grandmother, grandfather and uncle were born in Isola del liri, Lazio Italy. My grandfather’s name was Enrico Fiorelli (Fiorello) and my grandmother’s name was Theodora Marchelli. My uncle’s name was Ernest Fiorelli and he was born on August 6, 1913, I believe. Could you give me any information on either family and if it is a prominent family in that region. Any information would be so helpful. I want to know if I still have family in that area and how to contact them. Thank you so much for any help you may give me.

What I know of my family history is that my grandmotner was Angelina Tuzio b 11.1.87 in Piciniso. She must have either divorced or been widowed as my grandfather was a Joseph Matthews however my fathers stepbrothers and sisters were caled Quaglieri so it seems it could have been the same I know she had over 12 children The quaglieri ones included a Joe, Hilda, Mary, Annie and Joan unfortunately I was never aware of their fathers name or what had happened to him

      • marian brook says:

diane I think you may be my cousin,, joe was my father. grandma Angelina remarried many years after my granddad dissapeard to gr step granddad Mathews..they had at least five more children .. was your father stan ,,,,,,…

        • Frank says:

My great uncle is Joseph Matthews and I have recently started to look into his family. Angelina married Joseph in 1936. To throw a ‘spanner’ into the works, Angelina is shown on the 1911 census living in Coventry with the surname of WILLIAMS . There is no sign of a husband but she had three lodgers, one of whom was Joseph Matthews. Her children are shown as: Rose Williams (6yrs), Antonio Williams (5yrs), Matilda (3yrs), and Joseph Henry Williams (1yr).
Angelina died on 9th April 1941 at the Barras Green Club, Coventry along with three of her children when a German bomb fell on the club.
I would like to know what brought Angelina and Enrico to our shores. I think this story will take some unravelling.
