    I am having a very hard time locating my grandfather. I’m told he is from Amaseno his name is Giovanni Imola born between the years of 1898 thru 1906. I always thought he was from Rome but just recently learned of this information. He had several siblings which I do not have much information. I interested in dual citizenship and his birth certificate is needed. Sorry I don’t have much info hope you can help. Thank you

    He was Giuseppe Cioe, Americanized to Joseph Joy,
    Born 14 Apr 1882 in Amaseno, Italy,
    immigrated 1902 with his bother Ralph who came on a different ship same year
    Married to Jennie Smaldone 6 June 1907
    lived in Herkimer County, 6 children (Rose,James,Anthony,Genevieve,Margarite,Louis)
    died Ilion, Ny 1934.
    survived by sister Mary Tamassi in Italy
    marriage certificate states “of” Rose Pisterzi (possible mothers maiden?)

    Would like father’s name and confirmation of mother’s name.
