I have a relative in Troia, Italy who was able to track our family ancestry all the way back to 1679. My 6th great-grandfather’s name was Andrea Di Gennaro, born on 11 February 1679 in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (not sure of the church he was baptized in, but that was the town he was born in). He married Rosata Romanazzo in the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta in Troia on March 27, 1701. We also know that Andrea’s parents were named Francesco Antonio Di Gennaro and Andreana Palumbo – however, we do not know the birth dates of either Francesco or Andreana. It appears they were born somewhere in Naples.
I really want to know more about Francesco (the year he was born) and the names/birth dates of his parents. Since I don’t know where Francesco was born, that makes things complicated. Is it even possible to track him down? I am wondering if, since I know Andrea was born in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, this might help? (I also have the birth dates and other information of every one of my ancestors from my father all the way down to Andrea Di Gennaro if that is helpful). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My family lived in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. As far as I can go back with my research is 1816 with the death of my 5th great grandfather. His name was Nicola Deriso (Diriso) He married Petronilla Pepe. Then we have Gennaro Deriso (1769-1829) his wife was Maddelena Scala.I am just looking for any info on the Deriso family while they were in ITaly.
My great grandfather came to America in 1909 Michele Deriso.

I am trying to locate information about Luigia Munno, her mother was Rosa Parrilla. Luigia was born around April 24th 1907. She left for America 1926. Her husband was Carlo Ragozzino also from same area born around 1875. Any information would be great.
My husband, children and grandchildren are traveling to Italy and staying in Caserta fot 3 days. Caterina Munno listed Saint Maria Capua Vetere as last place of residence when entering the Port of New York on 4 October 1905. Her husband, Salvatore Talento paid for passage. Assuming they were married in Saint Maria, but can find no record.
Caterina Munno date of birth is 10 June 1882 and her parents listed as Andrew Munno and Angelina Spina (possibly Spena).
Salvatore Talento date of birth is abt. 7 Sept 1878 and his parents listed as Andrew Talento and Josephine Maura.
Any record of Caterina and Salvatore’s marriage or birth/church records to confirm city of origin to keep the search alive.

My Grandfather is Gaetano Celia b. 1/25/1881
My Grandmother is Lucea Setola b.12/13/1884.
I believe they were married in Santa Maria Capua, Italy around 1902
They left for America in 1902.

My great grandfather was born in Capua. His name was Raffaele Piccirillo and I am very interested in learning more about him and any of my other relatives in the area. He immigrated to America, settled outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and changed his last name to Little; I believe the American translation of Piccirillo in order to help secure work. As best I can gather from my great grandfathers birth certificate, his fathers name was Angelo Piccirillo. Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
