Immigrated 1913 leaving behind a pregnant wife Antonettia ,soon to be son Cereso Formiglia BIRTH 16 FEB 1914
He never returned. Trying to find any connection. He gave his parents as Domonic and Kathleen Densulo.
My grandfather, Michele, was born in 1878 and came over here three times, once lived in montclair, NJ and another time on Salem street in Boston. He became a citizen and sent for his wife(grazia) and two sons. They came about 1926. Settled in Natick, MA, Surname was Zichella Sons were James(Vincenzo) on birth certificate. Peter the older son died from an accident while operating a Jack hammer when he was 25, lived in Natick. Left a wife and daughter(Nicky). Recently heard that my grandfathers family were Jewish and changed to catholic. Looking for history of the town. Very little online. Thanks

Michele was my grandfather’s brother , Pietro Zichella , settled in Montclair , NJ. ,over the years our family have visited each other in Natick & Montclair , we have photos of those visits . I am not aware of any Jewish heritage .
My father Antonio was born in Lacedonia in 1908 , his mother was Eufamia Fusco .
Apparently we are distant cousins.

Hi I just saw this. Michele was born in lacedonia in 1878. I remember going out to Montclair for a wedding. It would have been when I was in High School around 1963 or 1964.. I went out with my father. my mother didn’t go too many places. I do have a couple of pictures of my fathers cousin, Tony and his wife. and my grandfather is in a couple. Not sure how old you are but I am 75. Still working. I had three boys.
I would be happy to give you my email. I have two. One is personal and one is business, Real Estate. Not sure I want to put the personal one on here. I could give you the business and then give you the personal one. My business one is everywhere. I live in Florida at this time. But go back to Massachusetts quite often.
Anyway, good to hear from someone in the family. After my father died The only one that was left was Rita Dellagatto and her husband Tony.
her mother was Theresa Sciretta, not sure of the spelling. Rita’s mother Theresa was my fathers cousin. Loved her dearly
She passed away around 1998. lovely woman. Her son is a Weather man in Tampa. Paul

I would to thank you for any information that you can provide to me and my family. My grandfather’s name is Philip or Filippo Ruggiero, immigrated to New York in the early 1190’s. He went into the American army and was sent to France during the first world war. The only information I know is that he owned olive groves and he left the property to a sister. I don’t know if this is true, but perhaps the Bertoli company may have purchased the olive groves.

I actually looked back at my geneology booklet and my grandmother incoronata had sister named Rosa born 1886 and giovannina born 1889 their mother was maria and her maiden name was monoco. I hope that helps. please contact me if this makes sense. .

Brother-in-law’s father, Michele S. Formiglia, born 1893 in Lacitnia Lacedonia, Avalina, Italy. Left from Naples 1913, leaving wife, Antonietta Formiglia (pregnant). She gave birth Feb 1914 to Cereso Formiglia.
Michele came to America, and said he was a widower. He “married” and never returned home to his family.

Antonio Attilio Branca was my grandfather. Hi birthdate was June 11, 1877. His mother’s name was Filomena Tennaro, his father being Giocondo (John); hence his first two children were Filomena and John. I have a photocopy of a birth certification document from Lacedonia. One of our cousins tried to locate info on the family in Lacedonia, but had no success due to the destruction from earthquakes and war in the area. There’s not much to go on.

Looking for a Marriage certificate or death certificate for my Grand Mother. Her Name is Donata Capano. The only information I have is that she married my Grand Father Filippo Di Stefano in 1933. She died in late 1934 or 1935 In Lacedonia. If there is a picture of her that would be great.
