My entire paternal family originated in Vaccarizzo Albanese (Arberesh). I have reviewed the civil records of Vaccarizzo, San Cosmo and San Demetrio Corone going back roughly to the 1700’s. I recently learned that the records of the church in Vaccarizzo, Chiesa di S. Maria di Costantinopoli were stolen by a prior pastor and the records are now in litigation.
Is there a way of finding out the status of this litigation and when the records (if ever) will be available for the current priest to prepare a family history (for pay)?
I plan to visit Albania to determine if there is anything there regarding the origins of Vaccarizzo and the Serembe surname.
Any assistance you can render would be appreciated. thanks, steve

My grandmother left vaccarizzo when she was young. Her maiden name was Maria Rosa Brunetti. She has a sister name fillominia De Angeles. ( married name). Her mother’s first name was Carmella. I would like to know any information that you have on the family. I assume that Carmella’s last name is Brunetti. My grandma was born in 1885. I am wondering if Fillomina’s children still reside in vaccarizzo. Dante, Cleopatra, Eufrasia, Jolanon. There last name would be De Angeles. I made a visit to Vaccarizzo in 2004. We had a language barrier. We did get to meet Albert. Any help will be helpful.
