Another important source of information is the “Archivio di Stato” (National archive) in L’Aquila.

In any case, never give up! Probably the distance from your country and Italy, some difficulties in understanding and in translation, could complicate your search but this should not discourage you.

My father Francesco Pietro Catini was born in Tossicia in the early nineteen hundreds . I VISITED THERE 8 YEARS AGO AND WAS NOT Able to find any information on my heritage, however when driving out of town there was a war memorial with the name Catini on it. I believe it to be a memorial from those soldiers who died in the first world war that were from Tossicia I would appreciate any relevant information regarding my ancestors

My father, Gabriele Di Leonardo was born in Tossicia in 1910. He emigrated to USA with his family in 1920-21. In 1980 I traveled to Tossicia but the registrar’s office was closed and I was not able to obtain a copy of his birth record. We have the records for my in-laws (born in Sicily) but I would like the one for my dear father. He was never able to return.
Please tell me how I can obtain this record by mail.
