“ValorePaese“ is a project for the development and the efficient management of real estate assets owned by the State and local authorities. The project, promoted by the “Agenzia del Demanio” (State Property Agency) in collaboration with Ance and Invitalia, involves unused or under-utilized properties that have strong strategic value.

In exchange for a license for up to 50 years, the State Property will provide a portion of the vast real estate assets by creating a network of tourist accommodations and cultural activities.
Already, 115 proposals of properties were received online and so far 63 have been selected. Twenty-eight are already in the start up phase and 7 have been initiated for the “Dimore” Project: The Orsini Castle in Soriano nel Cimino (Lazio – Viterbo Province), Santa Maria della Stella di Orvieto and the barracks Piave (Umbria – Terni Province), the old prison Terra Murata in Procida (Campania Napoli Province), the old prison of Sant’Agata in Bergamo (Lombardia) and barracks La Rocca and XXX Maggio in Peschiera del Garda (Veneto – Verona Province).

Another section of the initiative “ValorePaese” is “Affidiamo Valore”, which affects the development and recovery of real estate in medium-low value that are in poor condition. With the aid of the concession/rent they will be leased for a minimum of 6 years to a maximum of 50 years.

Private parties interested in the project must present a proposal for the duration of the lease/license together with a design concept, taking into account the period for return on investment. The first calls for “Valore Paese/Affidiamo Valore” involves 2 properties in Veneto – a former barracks of the Guardia di Finanza in Venice and the “Padiglione Ufficiali” in Dolcè in Verona, two in Umbria—in Gubbio and Todi (Perugia) and finally, 2 in Tuscany—a former mining compendium in Rio Marina (Livorno) and a former hydraulic tollgate in Grosseto.
